Shovelled about 20cm of fresh snow off the drive this morning. Heavy snow so not the easiest to shift. Would have been great for snowmen.
Checked the web to see what was open and even phoned Courmayeur as nothing appeared to be open through in Italy. They were having very high winds and envisaged not opening anything above the Dolonne lift from the valley floor.
Opted to go to Le Tour (Domaine de Balme) as the sun poked through about 10:00am. In and out of cloud and Baltic temperatures, especially on the Tete de Balme chairlift as the wind was so strong. Some off piste was totally wind affected and some slopes scoured, others were soft snow but by no means light. Pistes were in very good condition.
