March skiing and Eating in Chamonix & Courmayeur

Roundup of the last couple of weeks

The chalet has been busy and so reports have been lacking but spring has definitely arrived. Snow showers every few days have freshened the Chamonix Valley up and the temperatures have risen.

The overnight temperatures have been below freezing so slightly later starts in the morning has been the order of the day in order to find some give in the snow. Late lunches in both Chamonix and Courmayeur as the slopes become mushy; the best of the skiing having already been had.

The rose wine and prosecco are out and al fresco picnics with roast chickens from the Saturday market in Chamonix. It will not be long before we are skiing in the morning and rock climbing in the afternoons.

Familiar faces and fun skiing at Grands Montets and in Courmayeur plus some Vallee Blanche runs with High Mountain Guides.
