Roundup of the last few days.
Chamonix has been lucky with snowfall over the last couple of weeks and blessed with sunshine inbetween.
Today we are just back from skiing the north facing domain of Grands Montets. The pistes were firm but not icy and the off piste is super grippy. There are a lot of bumps but there are also stretches of blown in chalky snow.
Yesterday we ventured up the valley to Domaine de Balme and even took a hike above the back bowls. We were rewarded with lovely spring snow where the surface had softened in the heat of the day.
On Saturday a group of us put on climbing skins and ski toured up from the Col Cornu lift at Le Brevent to access the col de la Gliere and ski into Lachenal at La Flegere. Superb spring snow and a great ski for only a 20 minute climb.
