Alun Breezy

It is always good to get a feel about the people who will look after you on your hols, so here is a bit about me – Breezy.

Breezy in Pow

Originally I am from Yorkshire and after doing a Sports Studies Degree in Newcastle, I decided it was time to improve my skiing, so doing a ski season seemed like a good idea.  As with so many other people one season goes into another and another.  I was lucky and worked for several tour operators  in many resorts across France and Canada.

I spent 7 years working in ski resorts in the winter and travelling for the rest of the year.  After doing one season in Chamonix, I realised that this was the place for me and so began Ski Breezy offering catered accommodation.

By luck I managed to find the chalet in 2000 which was ideally suited for me, as it sleeps 10 people and with this size I knew I could easily run it on my own.  Being from a Yorkshire family I have been brought up in a very sociable household. The emphasis was always on a warm welcome, plenty of excellent home cooking and flowing wine, which has helped in creating the atmosphere you will enjoy in our chalet.

Sports and outdoor activities have always been a passion for me.  I still continue to be able to enjoy these activities and love skiing, ski touring, rock climbing, mountain biking, tennis and walking.  I married Al who I met in Chamonix. He is now my chief assistant in the chalet and like me he knows the Chamonix Valley extremely well.

Alun

Hi, I’m Alun, Alun Barrett.  I used to be a snowboarder and am now converted to telemark skis. Breezy and I met in Chamonix before she set up Ski Breezy and married her some years later. We get up the hill about 5 days a week so keep abreast of the snow conditions. Between us we have some 40 years experience of skiing Chamonix and will endeavour to make your holiday a great one.

Originally from Berkshire, after education I worked in outdoor centers for a number of years coaching outdoor pursuits before finding a career in Learning and Development.

Now I am a freelance Website Designer and sous chef /snow shoveller in the chalet.

Having snowboarded for some 20 years I took up telemark skiing as something new to learn.  It’s fantastic, I love it and can now get everywhere I used to go on a board, and more.  No more snowshoeing up hill and carrying a board.

Out of preference I would spend all my time in the outdoors; climbing, skiing, snowboarding and walking.  I don’t run unless I am late and only swim if I have fallen out of a boat.  I am an expert at chopping up vegetables.

When not in Chamonix Breezy and I split our time between the Yorkshire and The French Pyrenees where we took on a bit of a project www.radicalfish.eu
