Freeride facilities in Chamonix

Apart from the acres and acres of off-piste hits and lips in the different ski domains around the Chamonix Valley there are some new developments of the fabricated kind in Chamonix this winter.

Construction is underway for a new BoarderCross course at La Flegere.  It will be situated along side the Green piste serviced by the Trappe chairlift.  Not only will this provide entertainment for those going up the incredibly slow Trappe chairlift but it will definitely enhance the facilities up at La Flegere.  La Flegere has amazing natural freeride terrain as well but is incredibly hard to learn as most of it cannot be scouted from a lift, so beware those cliff bands and avalanche terrain traps.

Les Grands Montets will also have a dedicated BoarderCross along side the snowpark by the Marmotons piste. Before now the BoarderCross has been a little disjointed and not well maintained.  The snowpark at Grands Montets is packed with jumps, kickers, boxes, table tops and rails.  Different sections are graded as pistes are from green to black so start off easy as there have been a lot of bad injuries on the big ones.

Le Brevent will still have the big air bag jump to practice your flips and spins.  Located under the Parsa chairlift, again a very slow lift so great to keep you amused.
