Recent reports suggest that Italy has had more fresh snow that Chamonix so far this winter. Facebook has had pictures of snowboarders up at Le Tour in Chamonix and some powder hounds in Cervinia. Needless to say they have not used the lift systems to access the slopes but the coverage generally bodes well for a good winter ski season.
Courmayeur is a short hop through the Mont Blanc Tunnel from Chamonix and has some great terrain for both an and off piste skiing and snowboarding. We shall definitely be heading through to checkout the snow conditions before the slopes open in Chamonix this winter.
