We got an invite from David and Asa at the top of the road to join them for a run off the Aiguille du Midi. There are various routes which constitute the Vallee Blanche and the Petit Envers du Plan is one of them. A friend of theirs, Nick, joined us.
The Aiguille du Midi lift had been closed for a few days and there had been substantial snowfall. Thursday was the first day it opened and we were lucky enough to have reservations.
After a brief discussion we opted for the Petit Envers as there are steeper sections and was less travelled that the standard route. We were all familiar with the route though nobody had done it for some time.
Snow was varied from light powder at the top through to deep heavy snow as it quickly warmed up on lower slopes. A safe descent and great day out, thank you all!
