Ups and Downs Highs and Lows

This season has been a complete mix. Fantastic snow then gales and rain to high altitudes, fantastic snow… Early season lack of snow at lower ski domains meant a huge influx of visitors from outside the valley and busy slopes. Fortunately a prolonged cold spell kept the snow in good condition.

Recent snowfall has given a couple of superb blue sky powder days, swiftly followed by rain to above 2000m. It is now raining again in town and the forecast is for over a metre of snow at 1800m in the next 24hrs. Easter week is going to be great snow and not bad weather.

The lift operating company, CMB, has extended the opening of Le Brevent ski area for beginners through to the 23rd April. Grands Montets will remain open until in to May as per normal. The different ski domains have been working so hard to keep slopes open and the pistes in outstanding condition.

When the weather has been good we have enjoyed some fantastic skiing. When it has been bad the camera has not come out. So we have some amazing photos to share and still have a working camera.
