This week we have been chasing powder snow. We were lucky enough to get an invite from ESF to go through to Courmayeur with a High Mountain Guide for some off piste skiing and a free lunch. It had put down about 20cm of fresh snow overnight so we had an awesome day and a superb lunch. The very experienced Guide was also an instructor and was liberal with anecdotes and skiing tips. In our group of 4 we covered every discipline sith a snowboarder, telemarker and two downhill skiers.
Yesterday at Grands Montets the off piste was mostly tracked but there were still patches of virgin snow for a few turns and everything was super soft.
