There must have been a couple of hundred folk skinning up the Col de Crochue. Some with guides and some in groups. The sun shone and the snow was in great condition. Once at the top of the Col there was a mass of people sorting out kit before the traverse towards the Col de Berard.
Fortunately different groups were headed for different routes so the crowd thinned by the time we headed up the Col de Berard. Not having worked hard enough to earn our picnic and there being fresh tracks to be had on the far side we set off towards Buet. Amazing ski from top to bottom, all in all a grand day out!
