A great friends Birthday so a small group of us set off ski touring from Combloux up to the Croise Baulet. Combloux is a family resort linked to Megeve and was absolutely packed for the half term. Some of the pistes were brown where the earth was showing through.
We headed up the lift system and then donned the skins to head on up out of the ski domain. Near the top we bumped into a group of squaddies who were leaving craters on the outside of every turn.
The descent was on spring snow and actually quite nice until Kate lost the front of her binding and resorted to walking out. Picnic with Breezy cake and Prossecco in the trees and then back into the ski domain.
The Croise Baulet is a great beginner ski tour with easy navigation and only a 40 minute ascent to the peak.
