We linked up with Kate for a ski tour from the St Gervais Domain over Mont Joly and down in to Les Contamines. Having parked at St Nicolas we skinned up the Epaule and up to Mont Joly. Along the ridge and then had a glorious spring snow descent down from Tete de la Combaz. Had a bite to eat near the refuge and then took the track out to Les Contamines where Kate’s husband, Bruce, picked us all up.
Once the lifts open up next season (hopefully), this would make an excellent tour using the lifts from the St Gervais area to access 1300m of descent off piste.
