Gradually the lifts open up in Chamonix after the dump of snow.
Saturday morning and the sky is completely clear. The recent days of snowfall have closed a lot of the lift system in the valley and we have been playing with powder in the trees at Les Houches. Today the sun has brought on a feeling of optimism so we headed to Le Brevent to see what was gonna open.
Gradually different lifts opened up and as they did so there was a surge of off-piste activity in that area. By luck our timing was about perfect. As we passed a lift it just seemed to open so we had a morning of fresh tracking and even managed to ski down to the van.
