It has been an exceptional winter season for snow but not for sunshine. We have had more awesome powder days than we can remember but not always been able to see a lot. Some days the camera has been safely … Read on…
We thought that the ski down from the top of Grands Montets was nice. That was nothing compared to ski from Col du Passon down to Le Tour. An awesome ski touring day with the luck of untracked powder for most of the descent. Read on…
The ridge from the top of the Aig du Midi is in fantastic condition. Once kitted up again at the bottom of the ridge the crowds disperse in various different directions. We headed over the flats toward Helbronner. Someone had very kindly put a track in (while we were faffing about in the lift line) skirting under the crevasses and off up to the Italian side. February has been an awesome month in Chamonix with all manner of weather. We have had powder skiing in the trees at Les Houches with the Greenwood family. Blue skies and powder at Domaine de Balme. A chalet full of folk on an Introduction to Ski Touring week with Alison and Rob. And a ski tour for Sauze’s Birthday up Pointe de la Croix from Arpy in Italy. Read on…

The great thing about that is that the Föhn wind in Chamonix often means that it is dumping powder snow in Italy and there are plenty of trees. Read on…
Skiing with a mountain guide in Courmayeur and chasing the powder around Chamonix Valley. We were lucky enough to get an invite from ESF to go through to Courmayeur with a High Mountain Guide for some off piste skiing and a free lunch. Read on…
After the unprecidented amounts of snow the sun has reappeared and is making a definite come back. The lift company has opened up the valley and dug out the pistes again. There have been some amazing sights of chairlifts under … Read on…
