It is not often that we can get out of the chalet to get the first lift up Les Grands Montets but this was so worth getting out of bed for.
We thought that the ski down from the top of Grands Montets was nice. That was nothing compared to ski from Col du Passon down to Le Tour. The skin up and the boot was just under a couple of hours from the Argentiere glacier and the cloud came and went adding atmosphere. By the time we got to the Col the cloud had come in over the glacier below us. In hind sight we ought to have set the altimeter at the top of the Col because we skied into thick cloud half way down to Le Tour making navigation a challenge. Fortunately we popped out the bottom into better visibility just as we approached the exit gully.
An awesome ski touring day with the luck of untracked powder for most of the descent.
