The days are getting longer and warmer. It’s actually almost daylight when we go to the bakery in the morning to pick up the fresh bread for breakfast. Thoughts about which bar has a terrace for the sun for apres ski.
February is definitely busier than January. It is a great time to get kids into skiing. The warmth in the sun makes it much more enjoyable. The snow is well established and snow coverage is much more predictable.
Both the French and the British school holidays fall in February and so the slopes are generally more crowded. Having said that, if you are not tied to school breaks, the first week in Feb is often a great one to get away.
Ski touring is also definitely on the agenda. The longer days, the warmth in the sun and the more stable snow pack makes getting away from the lift lines a very attractive proposition. If you are interested and looking for a course to get you going look here.
