Decided to venture through the Mont Blanc Tunnel and checkout Courmayeur. Left Chamonix in the cloud and came out in Italy with snow falling. The nearest lift at Val Veny was still closed so drove through to the main Courmayeur lift station.
The pistes were in fantastic condition though the off piste was still very thin and rocky. Snow continued to fall for the whole day putting down 10-15cm with good visibility.
Managed to squeeze in to the Maison Vieille for a pizza and prosecco lunch with Sauze & Patrick. In the afternoon the slopes had been skied off with mounds of fresh snow poised to trip you up so we descended and headed back to Chamonix to find it raining in town. Snow limit was about 1300m so it had been putting fresh down above that.
Carol concert in the small church by the train station got us into the festive spirit in the evening.
