Great snow conditions at Grands Montets

Both yesterday and today the sun made an appearance and after the fresh snowfall, Grands Montets was our chosen destination. Yesterday we were fresh tracking powder snow all day (or at least until our legs gave up). Although the sun was out it was bitterly cold and the wind made it not conducive to taking photos.

Today at Grands Montets it again started really cold but warmed up enough in the  afternoon to get the camera out.

There were still patches of fresh untracked snow to put a few turns in but most of the terrain was skied. Overnight wind had blown snow into some areas creating a smooth grippy, chalky surface to ski which was great. Best conditions found today (apart from powder in the trees) was in the “gun barrel”.
